1. Lebron James
He is an American professional basketball player who won two NBA championships , four NBA Most Valuable Player Awards.
James was born on December 30, 1984 in
Akron , Ohio to a 16-year-old mother, Gloria
Marie James, who raised him on her own.
His father left the home before his birth.
Growing up, life was often a struggle for
the James family, as they moved from apartment to apartment in the seedier neighborhoods of Akron while James' mother struggled to find steady work.

2. Lionel Messi
He is an Argentine professional
footballer who plays for Spanish club Barcelona and the Argentina national team.
Messi is the first football player in history to win four FIFA /Ballons d'Or , all of which he won consecutively, and the first to win three European Golden Shoe awards.
His parents Jorge Horácio Messi, a factory steel worker, and Celia María Cuccittini, a part-time cleaner.
At the age of 11, Messi was diagnosed with a
growth hormone deficiency . Local team River Plate showed interest in Messi's progress, but were not willing to pay for treatment for his condition, which cost $900 a month.

3. Rajendra Singh Rahelu
Arjun Awardy Rajendra Singh Rahelu is an
Indian Paralympic powerlifter . He won a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in the 56 kg category.
Rahelu was born in Mehsampur village, Jalandhar district, Punjab, in a poor dalit
family. He is the youngest of five siblings, with two older brothers and two older
sisters. His father, Rattan Singh, worked as
a bandmaster , and his mother was a maid.
Rahelu is suffering from infantile paralysis . He contracted polio when he was eight months old.

4. Allen Iverson
He is an American retired professional basketball player who played for four different teams during 14 seasons in the
National Basketball Association (NBA). Iverson was an eleven-time NBA All- Star , won the All-Star game MVP award in 2001 and 2005, and was the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2001.
Allen Iverson was born in Hampton, Virginia to his single 15-year-old mother, Ann Iverson, and was given his mother's
maiden name after his father Allen Broughton left her.
Iverson, who was 17 at the time, was convicted as an adult of the felony charge of
maiming by mob. Iverson drew a 15-year prison sentence, with 10 years suspended.

5. Althea Gibson
She was the first African-American tennis player to compete at the U.S. National Championships in 1950, and the first black player to compete at Wimbledon in 1951. She also broke racial barriers in professional golf.
Her family struggled to make ends meet,
living on public assistance for a time,
and Gibson struggled in the classroom,
often skipping school all together.
